Full Arch Solution – AXA & Posterior Atrophy Management (BD Cuff)
Pilna zobu loka risinājums ar AXA & Molāru un premolāru atrofijas menedžments (BD Cuff)
Dr. Gita Zommerfelde-Antipina un dr. Aleksandrs Antipins
Participants will gain knowledge on two concepts:
1. How to use the new AXA Multi-Unit system
In the first part participants learn the advantages compared to previously available MUA systems. We will explore the benefits during the surgical stage to achieve the correct emergence profile for prosthetics and proper positioning of the abutments.
Participants will also become familiar with innovative solutions such as the Click-on temporary abutment, which significantly simplifies and speeds up the prosthetic stage. We will learn why in some situations it is advisable to avoid using an MUA cylinder / Ti-base and why this can be beneficial. The training will also introduce the digital workflow, including when and why to use a horizontal scanbody and a reverse scanbody.
The aim of the training is to provide participants with the knowledge needed to work successfully with the AXA system.
2. BD Cuff system in the posterior region.
In the second part participants learn crestal bone preservation solution in posterior area without GBR with BD Cuff implant.
In some specific cases bone augmentation is posterior buccal area is not predictable or has failed. In such indications we can consider a new solution of BD Cuff implant. BD Cuff implant's benefit is that it protects the crestal bone and soft-tissue interface, which helps prevent one of the most common long-term implant problems: bone loss and peri-implantitis around the implant neck.
Participants will learn in which situations a BDCuff implant could be preferred instead of buccal bone reconstruction. In specific cases, this approach allows for a stable outcome while sparing the patient from a second-stage surgical procedure and the discomfort associated with it. We will learn about the specific characteristics of the BD Cuff system and the factors that must be considered when using it.
After the lecture, a hands-on course will take place on a bone model , where 6 implants and 6 AXA abutments will be placed. Participants will practice implant placement (Blue Diamond, BD Cuff, ARi) in different bone conditions to achieve sufficient primary stability, and learn how—unlike with conventional MUA solutions—to achieve the correct parallel positioning of all AXA abutments using the Angle Guide Tool. This approach allows for easier prosthetic procedures later and helps ensure a better aesthetic and functional outcome.
