LARGE FOV CONE-BEAM CT IN DENTAL IMAGING: FRIEND OR FOE?

INTRAORAL SCANNERS: THE SECRETS UNTOLD

Dr. Nico Mollet has a wide knowledge of Computed Tomography (CT) technique in general and the implementation of novel CT imaging technologies in the clinical arena. As a pioneer in the field of non-invasive cardiac imaging, he finished his PhD cum laude in 2005 on the topic of ‘non-invasive CT coronary angiography’. He joined several CT expert panels on the topic of dual-source and dual-energy CT technology. During his academic career, he was (co-)author of numerous publications in the field CT and MRI (e.g. >180 PubMed publications and >12.000 citations).

He is currently working as a general radiologist in a large community hospital in Belgium. As an interventional radiologist, he is also involved in the treatment of acute stroke patients.

Dr. Mangano is a founding and active member of the International Digital Dentistry Society (DDS). Currently also a member of the scientific committee (2020-2021) and in addition he is a member of the International College of Dentists.

From 2017 to 2020, he served as editor of the digital dentistry section of BMC Oral Health, Springer Nature Journal (Quarter I, Indexed Pubmed, and Scopus). Thanks to this new dental section, about 100 scientific articles were published in four years and the impact factor of the journal doubled.
